PecPIR helps you with scoring videos by dividing a running video file in pre-set time intervals called "cycles", thus allowing you, as an observer, to ignore the timing problem. You can use the PecPIR for partial interval recording and momentary time sampling. All you need to do is set the start and end points of the video and begin watching! During your observation you can use any key to tell the program that the target behaviour is present in the current time-slice (or interval). If you mistakenly press a key twice or more in the same time-slice, the program will record only one "hit". You can stop data recording simply by pressing the pause button and then restart when you are ready to continue; the program will keep on counting exactly from where you last left it. When the video is finished, the program will automatically stop. Each key (except "T", see below) that you press during playback draws a label in a timeline, so you can see each "present" behavior in timeline. Once finished recording, you can check the number of "present" and "not present" hits. The percentage of "present" hits will then be calculated automatically. The program runs on Windows Media Player, so the format is limited to these file types. If you have a specific target behavior to put in relation with a specific stimulus, during playback you can use a special key, the "T" key, to tag the stimulus start point. This draw in the timeline a special red tag. You can add whenever you want this red tag, having for example first tag representing the start of stimulus, and the latter representing the end. So the timeline can give you an idea of how target behavior is much present or not present in the total period of the movie. Please send us a feedback.
